• Avoid focusing on the seller’s personal belongings, as it could be a distraction and cloud your overall view of the home

Rate Each Home

It is recommended you use a simple rating system to help you determine if a property should be added to your final list of potentials. By prioritizing your needs and desires first, you will be able to determine what is really important in your next home.

When we visit listings together, keep these questions in mind as you walk through the home:

• Does the location of the home fit my needs?
• Does this home offer me enough space (square footage)?
• Does it offer me enough bedrooms and bathrooms?
• How much storage space does the home have – is there enough?
• What about parking? What are my options: driveway – garage – on the street?

If the home has passed your basic requirements, now is the time to think about your wish list:

• Is there an extra bedroom or bathroom?
• Is there a patio or large deck for entertaining?
• Is there a separate laundry room?
• What about a basement?
• Can your kids walk to school?
• Is there a fireplace?
• Is the overall condition of the property fair, good, or excellent?
• What is the condition of the other important systems of the home like the appliances, roof, foundation, walls, mechanicals, wiring?
